Conical Tipped Steel Pin
Technical Parameters:
- Material: hardened steel
- the end of which has the form of a cone with an angle of 40°.
- Its tip is rounded with a radius of 0,25 mm ± 0,02 mm.
The Cone Shaped Scribing Steel Rod is designed to test whether the accessible parts of solid insulation have sufficient strength to prevent the penetration of sharp objects in accordance with the requirements of TS EN 60335-1, article 21.
Test method: The angle between the pin and the specimen surface is 80° ~ 85°. Then the pin loaded with an axial force of 10 ± 0.5 N is applied to scratch the surface at a speed of about 20 mm/s.
A weight of 20 N can be added to this test pin to reach a load of 30 N. The scratching pin can also be used in scratch resistance tester.
