What is Ball Drop Apparatus?
Ball drop apparatus is a device used for mechanical strength tests. It is generally designed to evaluate the durability of materials such as plastic, ceramic, acrylic and fibreglass. This apparatus tests the strength of the material by dropping a steel ball of a given mass from a predetermined height.
Key Features
Test Standards: The ball drop apparatus is designed in accordance with TS EN 60598-1 and TS EN 60950-1 standards. These standards specify the requirements for the safety of electrical equipment.
Adjustable Ball Mass: The mass of the steel balls used in the device can be adjusted from 50 g to 2000 g. This provides flexibility for different material tests.
Drop Height: The ball drop height can be adjusted from 0 to 2000 mm. This feature offers the possibility to change the conditions of the test.
Control Mechanism: The ball drop process is controlled by direct current electromagnetism. The user releases the ball by pressing the ‘Drop’ button and it hits the sample.
Fields of Use
Material Testing: Used to test the durability of the outer coatings of electrical and electronic products.
Production Processes: It is applied to control material quality during the production phase.
Research and Development: Used in laboratories to evaluate the durability properties of new materials or products.
