Scope

Degrees of Protection: TS 3033 EN 60529 covers electrical equipment with rated voltage 72,5 kV and below. This standard is used to determine how much protection the enclosures provide against external factors.
Objective: The standard is applied to test the resistance of enclosures and other electrical equipment to external influences such as water and dust. Compliance with the conditions declared by the manufacturer must be ensured and products meeting these conditions must be labelled.

Protection Classes

The IP code consists of two characters:

First Characteristic Number: Indicates the degree of protection against solid objects (between 0-6).
Second Characteristic Number: Indicates the degree of protection against liquids (between 0-8)
